Fall Math Centers just got a lot more engaging! These fun logic problem puzzles will challenge your students and get them thinking about addition and subtraction in a whole new way. These are ideal as early finisher tasks, morning tubs, or partner math centers. They also make a fantastic addition to your problem-solving routine.
For each of the 20 logic puzzles, your students will find the value of each symbol and record it on the accompanying recording sheet.
These puzzles work with addition and subtraction to 1,000 and they are TRICKY! If your students are not used to working with numbers in this way, these will be surprisingly challenging. They are best suited to Grades 4-6, but will be difficult for many Grade 4 students. Even if you teach Grades 7-8, these puzzles will provide a sufficient challenge for many students.
If you are like most teachers and teach a class with various ability levels, I highly recommend you provide differentiation for your students. You want to provide just enough challenge for each student but not SO MUCH challenge that this activity becomes frustrating.
To help you make differentiation simple, I've bundled all 8 sets of these Fall Logic Puzzles. Assign specific sets to students, or lay them all out and have students choose the set that provides the perfect amount of challenge for their brain! (This can be a great way to empower your students and teach responsibility for their own learning.)
