About
Are you teaching measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode)? So often this concept gets taught by giving students random numbers and having them simply perform the calculations with no understanding of how these measures can be used in real life.
But what if your students actually understood WHY they need to know about mean, median, mode, and where they might actually use this knowledge in the real world?
This math project will make measures of central tendency real, relevant, and interesting to your students.

What's Included?
In this real-life math project, your students will take on the role of Baseball Stadium Business Auditor, traveling to stadiums to figure out how to help them become profitable. Your students will use measures of mean, median, and mode to complete 8 tasks, including looking at the data from the gift shop, ticket sales, concession stand, and more. From there, they will be able to make recommendations for how the stadium can fix their revenue problem.
This project is meaningful, fun, and includes a component of financial literacy that is interesting to students.
