Your students will never be stuck for a writing topic idea again! This resource includes 200 writing prompts and topics that will encourage students to write stories about real-life experiences and opinions. The writing process just got easier!

With a wide variety of prompts to choose from, your students will be sure to find a topic to write about. There are also graphic organizers and writing templates to choose from to help students plan their writing and follow through to the final draft! 

Ideas for Use 

Here is how I have used this resource in my own classroom:

• First, we go through the list as a class. As we read through the list, I provide explanations where necessary, and students highlight or check the topics as we go. I typically find that they are excited about many of the topics, and mark many of them as ideas they are interested in writing about.
• Students are free to use the ideas as inspiration, and then add their own on the last page (or change the topics to make them more suitable to themselves).
• These lists then get put into each student's writing folder for easy reference throughout the year.

The list is in two different formats, so you can choose the one that best suits your classroom. The first is in a checklist format so students can track the story ideas they are interested in, and the ones they have finished writing about. The second style is a more condensed version where students can highlight the story writing topics that interest them.

As a bonus, this resource also includes a variety of graphic organizers and writing templates that will help students to organize and present their writing.
