About
This is a fun, low-prep math station that will encourage number sense understanding. Using a 100 chart as their guide, students will work with 10 less, 10 more, 1 less, and 1 more.
This station is a great addition to your place value unit. It can also be used as an assessment tool to get a snapshot of your students' number sense understanding at the beginning of the school year.
How It Works
- The student chooses a task card. Each task card has a snippet from a 100 chart. Students must use their knowledge of the 100 chart in order to identify the missing numbers.
- Once the numbers have been identified, the student fills in those numbers on the blank hundred chart recording sheet.
- Once all 16 task cards are completed, the student uses the filled in 100 chart to answer the follow-up questions.
What's Included?
This resource includes 16 task cards, blank hundred chart and follow-up activity.
What Teachers Are Saying
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Great station activity to promote number sense! I have my kids take a photo of it when they are done to hold them accountable." Sweet Tea Teacher
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I used this at the beginning of the year to help me get an idea of where my students' number sense was and how well they understood tens and ones in place value. It helped me assess, but I also noticed that it helped students increase their number sense, as even those who were originally looking at a pre-filled number chart to help them with the puzzles were, by the end, much more comfortable with knowing what the number chart pattern is." Anna S.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I have used these task cards as exit tickets for my intervention students that are practicing counting 0-100. It has been very helpful. I have also used them as part of the kids' interactive notebooks." Allison S.
