Christmas Math has never been more fun! This North Pole Christmas Math Project will keep your students engaged and begging for more throughout the month of December as they complete relevant, meaningful, and FUN tasks using operations, area, graphing and data interpretation, fractions, money, elapsed time, and so much more! These essential skills are reinforced with activities like planning the North Pole Patrol, calculating measurements of Santa's workshop, planning the North Pole Express route, calculating costs at the North Pole Cafeteria, and many more fun tasks.
The North Pole Christmas Math Project is a math project incorporating real-life, relevant scenarios. There are nine different holiday-related tasks. This project is the perfect solution to those chaotic days before the winter holidays, keeping your students interested and motivated.
Ideas for Use
Math projects are an ideal way to consolidate learning. I recommend using them as an engaging activity AFTER skills have been learned rather than during learning. You will likely find that engagement is very high and that your students ask to do more of these!
- Use the individual tasks as part of your December math centers. Place one task at each center and have students rotate through them.
- Make a booklet for each student that includes all the tasks from this math project. Allow your students to choose the order that they complete the tasks, and use it as early finisher activities or morning work.
- Keep students engaged during those final days before Christmas holidays by allowing them to work through this package with a partner.

The North Pole Patrol is a group of elves who make sure that Santa’s Workshop is always safe. Help them plan their Christmas patrol schedule.

How do the elves travel around the North Pole? With the North Pole Express of course! Help the driver plan his route.

Where do all of the people at Santa’s Workshop eat lunch? At the North Pole Cafeteria of course! Help each person decide what to have for lunch.

Every Christmas, the elves make a special mystery picture in the snow for Santa. Then when Santa takes flight on Christmas Eve, he gets to see it from up in the air! It’s one of Santa’s favorite parts of Christmas Eve!

This package also includes modified pages for some of the activities. This includes smaller numbers than the original version. Use the modified pages to ensure that each student can experience success at his own level.
