About
This back-to-school grade-level puzzle was always something I did on the very first day of school in my classroom to help create a sense of community. Every student gets a piece of a letter and decorates it with their name and any patterns or pictures.
When the puzzle is put together on your classroom wall it makes a beautiful display that can stay up all year long. I always told my students:
“If a piece of the puzzle is missing, our class just isn’t complete.”
This class puzzle will quickly become your favorite part of the classroom and will help you create the sense of community that is so important at the beginning of the year! I hope your students enjoy creating it!
What's Included?
For each grade level (K-6), a 20-piece puzzle AND a 25-piece puzzle is included. Use the extras (exclamation mark and shapes) if you have more than 25 students! If you have fewer than 20 students, use the 20-piece puzzle and have some students decorate 2 pieces, or leave some extras for students who may join throughout the year.
Each letter is the size of one standard 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of copy paper.
Want to draw your own puzzle piece lines to make your puzzle pieces unique to your classroom? I’ve included a set of letters with no lines to make this easier for you.
