This resource includes ten back-to-school math centers that focus on number sense for numbers 1-20.
Some uses for these centers include:
- to review skills at the beginning of the year
- to reinforce new number sense concepts
- to assess students’ number sense skills
These are ideal as individual or partner math centers. Simply print, cut and laminate! The center materials also work great as a beginning of the year assessment. Have groups of 3 or 4 students work at a table with you. Each student can work on a different center. As the students complete the center, you will get a great sense of where they are at with regards to number sense skills. This will help to drive your future math instruction.
Ten math centers are included that will reinforce the following skills:
-representing numbers with ten frames
-representing numbers with tally marks
-reading number words
-representing numbers with base 10 blocks
-reading and drawing number lines
-comparing, ordering and sorting numbers
-adding to find a sum
-subtracting to find a difference
