About
Subitizing refers to the ability to recognize a number of objects without counting them individually. For example, you likely recognize a dice pattern without counting the dots one by one.
Subitizing is widely used in early elementary classrooms but can be equally as beneficial in upper elementary when developing multiplicative reasoning. We can use subitizing in a way that encourages students to recognize equal groups.
The subitizing sorts in this resource will give students the opportunity to build their number sense and multiplicative reasoning using subitizing visuals.
What's Included?
There are two sets of subitizing sorts included in this resource. Each set contains 20 sorting cards.
What Teachers Are Saying
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "Wow!! What a GREAT way for kids to identify numbers and make a connection!!! Thank you so much for your creativeness!! My kids are really enjoying this!" Karen F.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "My students and I loved this multiplication resource because it was a great way to reinforce two skills at once. The first skill that the cards supported was subitizing, which my students needed the practice. The second skill was multiplication. I even used the cards to make up a math game called "Find the Multiplication Equation." Nichelle J.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I used this with my students you are still learning their math facts and during number talks. Great resource!" Hillary Y.
