About
One of my favorite math games (and my students’ favorite) has always been “Salute.” Salute is a card game that can be used to reinforce addition/subtraction or multiplication/division. I recommend starting with addition/subtraction, even if you are teaching an older grade. I love integrating games into all subject areas, but especially math. This game includes tons of opportunity for learning and reinforcement, and is so fun that students don’t even realize they are learning!
To play, students need to get into groups of three. For this game, it works best if the students in each group are at a similar skill level. Each group will also need a deck of cards, with the face cards and jokers taken out (just keep the numbers 2-10).

What Teachers Are Saying
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "This was an awesome beginning of the year math activity, where students got into pairs and practiced math fact fluency and mental math in order to win." Nicoletta K.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "What a great game to use with my kids as they practice their math facts! Something different from the usual flashcards or fact sheets. Thank you!!" Karen M.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "I've seen other teachers use this game with their students, I just needed actual written instructions so that my students could play more independently. They are having a blast playing the game for multiplication! I hadn't even thought of using it for addition/subtraction, but will in the future." Jessica A.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "My students loved playing Salute to reinforce their addition facts! A few of them told me how much they enjoyed playing. A game simple enough to have students play amongst themselves and also teach family members to play at home!" Liv's Learning Library
