About
Looking for a way to keep your students engaged during small group reading instruction? These reading bookmarks (“thinkmarks”) will encourage your students to be reflective as they read a text during traditional guided reading or other reading instruction. They will look for confusing concepts, new learning, important information, connections to what they already know, and more.
Ideas for Use
When I work with a small group, I set six of each thinkmark in the center of the table. As we read together, students can quietly take a thinkmark and insert it into their book. Later, we discuss the sections that they marked. This gives students a chance to share and discuss connections they made, new things they learned, or questions they might have.
Use these reading comprehension bookmarks to encourage your students to:
- look beyond the words for the deeper meaning of the text
- read for understanding
- remain engaged as they read
What's Included?
Eight different color printable bookmarks (four of the same on each page).
